As Eid al Adha Holiday arrives for the third year under the crushing weight of Israeli genocide in Gaza, Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction declares that our people enter this sacred occasion with prayer, grief, steadfastness, and an unbroken national will in the face of the genocidal state of Israel.

Eid al Adha, a season rooted in sacrifice, mercy, family, and communal dignity, now reaches Palestinian homes through tents, graves, hospital corridors, demolished neighborhoods, and the ruins where families still search for their dead. The genocidal state of Israel has invaded the calendar of Palestinian life, stolen the public sound of joy, and turned sacred days into seasons of mourning.

“For the third year, this holiday enters our homes without the sound of celebration,” said Dimitri Diliani, spokesperson for Fateh’s Reformist Democratic Faction. “It enters through the silence of bereaved mothers, through children who no longer have homes, through families gathered around absence, and through a nation forced to pray beneath the shadow of Israeli genocide.”

The scale of the catastrophe exposes the savagery of Israel’s genocidal machinery. Reuters reported earlier this month that more than 72,500 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s Gaza genocide since October 2023, with civilians accounting for 83 percent of the death toll according to leaked Israeli military documents. Reuters also reported yesterday that around 900 Palestinians had been killed in continuous Israeli genocidal strikes since the October 2025 ceasefire.

“Every figure carries a home, a face, a name, a mother’s voice, a child’s unfinished life, and a family torn open by Israel’s killing machine,” Diliani stated. “This Eid, our children do not count gifts. We count bodies of slaughtered family members, missing loved ones, destroyed homes, and graves dug into a wounded land.”

Diliani stressed that the Israeli crime extends across occupied Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank, where Israeli genocidal forces and colonial settler terrorist militias continue to kill, raid, burn, demolish, seize, terrorize, and uproot. OCHA reported that 47 Palestinians had been killed in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of this year, while more than 50 Israeli settler terrorist attacks were recorded in one week, with an average of six settler attacks per day since the start of this year.

“This Eid is prayer, mourning, and steadfastness,” Diliani said. “No Palestinian home can celebrate while Israeli fighter jets hunt forcibly displaced families in tents, while children are buried under concrete, while mothers are killed with their daughters, while state sponsored terrorist settler militias burn through our villages, and while the world keeps granting the genocidal state of Israel the luxury of impunity.”
